~2010 - The Golden Era
Beyblading - One of the most popular sports on earth, and set only to grow. It was appreciated all round. It got children off of the streets, and taught (most of) them teamwork, and strategic planning. The building companies made a fortune in arenas to be televised, and the companies who televised it made even more money, second only to the companies who produced Beyblades.
Bit-Beasts, the creatures trapped inside many Beyblades, rose in number, and soon, nearly every Blader owned a Bit-Beast, (Or at least, an artificial one), and the money that went into the battles rose exponentially - After all, what was more exiting than watching giant creatures beat each other up?
~2012 - Dark Days
Unfortunately, the power of the Beyblades didn't seem to be stopping any time soon, and the people living in the cities eventually tired of the scuffs and scrapes all over their wondrous homes, even if it was good entertainment, and so, over time, the Bladers were forced underground - A good deal of people merely gave up - What was the use of Beyblading if you could no longer get famous, or even do it in the light of day?
Of course, the authorities knew about the underground Bladers, but, unless they caught them Battling in broad daylight, there wasn't much they could do, except restrict the parts available for them to buy.
Thus, the Dark Days were born - Battles were fought mainly to acquire the parts to fix Beys, which couldn't be gotten in many other places, and many more people gave up on Blading - It had become far too difficult for them!
~2014 - End
It started with a meteor shower. Beautiful. Harmless. Heralds for the monster to come.
An asteroid, bigger than the one that had destroyed the ancient earth, millions of years ago, struck Earth. It destroyed nearly all surface life. However, the Bladers who had remained in the Burrow, an abandoned Nuclear shelter, survived the impact, though the Burrow became cut off from the rest of the world.
But, the Bladers did eventually repair a single exit, from a universal desire to see what had become of the world. It couldn't be that bad, right?
Wrong. The few plants and animals that had survived were quickly beginning to reclaim the world, and humanity had been all but wiped out. Still, disadvantaged and alone as they were, the Bladers still had their Beyblades, and thus fostered an immense power, and a method of survival. But did they know how to use it?
